AdSense Link Units - Introduction
Many bloggers and websites owners make money from Google AdSense, most of them use the well known ad unit format. Many of them didn’t even know there is a another option to make money from Google AdSense and that’s from link units.
It’s very important to know that AdSense link units can increase your income if you integrate in the overall design of your site.
On June 2007 Google has updated their AdSense program policy by changing the numbers of link units that you can put on a single page. Before the update you could only put one units per page and now you can put up to three units, this change can help us increase our income .
Lets start from the basics, we all know what are ads units, but how does link units look like ?

How does AdSense links units work ?
Different from AdSense ads where each line point to one advertiser, AdSense link units display a list of topics that are relevant to you page. Each topic points to a page of related advertisement, look at following diagram to understand the flow.
How do I add link unit to my site ?
Step 1:
Sign in to your AdSense account, click the AdSense Setup tab , Get Ad.
Step 2:
Choose AdSense from the product list.
Step 3:
Select the link unit radio button and press the continue button.
Step 4:
Select the link format from the drop-down list, select your color palette and choose, than select a link unit format and choose the radio whether to show 4 or 5 link per unit. Choose Alternate ads or colors option you learn more about it on Google AdSense help section
Step 5:
Assign a channel to your AdSense link unit, this will help to track where you income came from. Don’t skip this step you will regret it later ,when you want the analyze you revenue according to ads placement.
Step 6:
Choose a name for you link unit order you can use it again, than press Submit and Get Code.
Step 7:
Copy and paste the ad code from the Your AdSense Code box into the you website source page.
