AdSense Section Targeting

Displaying relevant AdSense ads on your site can be the different between a successful site or a full disaster.

Sometimes as much you want, your keyword density just can’t be done properly and the ads that will be shown on your website will be relevant to the keyword density in you specific page.

For example:

If you have a online game website that contains lots of war games and shooting games. You may get AdSense ads related to guns and shooting and fire, but not related to games at all.

This type of ads will have very low CTR because they are not relevant to your visitors at all.

Google has thought about this problem and added few HTML tags that can help you and them to serve the right and relevant ads.

If you want to emphasize a section on your page that contain the right information for you relevant ads just wrap it like in the next example:

<!-- google_ad_section_start -->

               You Content will be here

<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

Put enough information between the above tags so Google robots have something to process.

If you want Google AdSense robots to ignore a section then use the add the (weight=ignore) in opening tag, like this:

<!-- google_ad_section_start(weight=ignore) -->

                   Content inside will be ignored

 <!-- google_ad_section_end -->

It will take about 2 weeks until you will see the changes in your AdSense ads, so be patient.

Don’t try to cheat Google and put none relevant content that is different from the rest of you site, you will get flagged and eventually get banned from the AdSense program.
